Before you start

01 / Firmware

GoPro Labs firmware must be installed on the camera.

02 / Pairing

Pair with the GoPro Quik app at least once. Live streaming will not work on an out-of-box or factory-reset camera.

03 / HERO12–13

Enable auto upload once. You can switch it straight back off afterwards.

02 / Presets

A mode only responds if a preset exists for it. Time-lapse and night-lapse each ship with one preset covering either video or photo, so create the other on camera if you want to select it.

Camera model

The HERO7 cannot start a live stream from a QR code. GoPro's compatibility table marks Live Stream Initiation as unsupported on HERO7, and the commands that store WiFi and RTMP details are not implemented on it. Live-stream codes need a HERO8 or newer, so this page generates a settings code instead.

Stream resolution and video resolution are separate. The first sets what GoPro sends to your RTMP server; the second sets the camera's video mode, which drives the on-camera copy. Options marked not set leave the camera on whatever it is already using. Superscripts mark the models an option needs, and a camera ignores anything it does not support.

Only the options you change go into the code. Anything left on not set is omitted, so the camera keeps its current value. The lists above are already narrowed to what a HERO7 supports, and the camera ignores any frame rate its current mode cannot do.

Scan any time to go live with the settings above. Holds no credentials, so this is the one that is safe to print and carry.

Setup and launch in a single scan. A denser code, so print it large. Note that it carries your password and stream key.
