Our Unique ROCK 5B+ Case with Cable & Port Protection

A brand new design which protects all the front ports & HDMI input.

The case comes in three parts, the case for the 5B+ itself, a lid for the encoder (optional lid type, space for a 40mm fan – fan not included) and a lid for the cable protection bay. The 5B+ screws and slots into place inside the casing and then both the lids screw on over the top of the encoder and clamp down on over the cables.

All fixings for the 5B+ and the lids come embedded into the case and crosshead machine bolts are provided.

The cable bay is to prevent the USB-C power, USBs and the Ethernet ports from being damaged, the extended lid also prevents damage to the HDMI.

Please note that the cable protection bay is only for the one side (front), the rear USB-C is not protected in the same way, but is accessible and provides some support.

What’s Included/Features

• x1 Encoder case with extended cable protection bay
• x1 Encoder case lid (also clamps down on the HDMI port in the case)
  • There is also a lid option that has space for a 40mm fan (Not provided) to be installed above the main chip, this can plug into the header on the 5B+ board
• x1 Cable protection bay lid (comes already attached the the main lid)
  • Supports a HDMI with port header of up to 52mm (if your HDMI header is long, it may be easier to plug this in before installing the board)
• All fixings which include:
  • x3 Fixings for the 5B+ to secure it inside the case
  • x4 Fixings for main encoder lid
  • x1 Thumb screw for the cable protection lid
  • x1 Nut and Bolt to attach both lids to the hinge (preinstalled)
• 20mm slotted gaps on the base of the cable bay to attach straps if desired
• Includes x2 10cm Velcro self-adhesive strips to attach to the underside of the case if desired
• If you wish to use a standard USB fan instead of plugging directly into the board, the cable will fit through the HDMI port at the side.

Information

Please note that the 2 HDMI output ports are not currently supported within the cable protection bay as this is where we’ve placed the thumb screw. If this is something you’d need, please ask us in the Discord and we’ll see if we can sort something out.

• A PETG Case is recommended in consistently warmer climates as this has a higher temperature tolerance to warping and deformations.
• Example of PLA: We’ve been using/testing a full PLA case & fan mods in the backpack within the UK all year round and no warping has taken place.
